Prior to the Expedition

The task before the expedition involved designing a structure for the solar panel, along with the necessary maintenance plan, risk assessment, materials and cost, and project management constraints. The task was group work, which made it easier to delegate tasks and meant we could focus on our areas of strengths. It allowed me to gain a greater understanding of the different types of solar panel, and how they work. This endeavour also brought together various different areas and skills from our degree over the past 4 years, showcasing the culmination of our academic journey and the practical application of our knowledge in a real-world setting. EcoSwell also ran various Zoom sessions with the cohort about the electric aspects of the PV modules, to help us gain a better understanding of how they worked. I found these helpful and made me feel more confident prior to the expedition.
